The Federation for European Storytelling (FEST) and Berättarnätet Öst and partners (ALBA Sverige, Musikteater Unna och Vargkatten produktion) are delighted to invite the international storytelling community to the 2026 FEST conference in Stockholm on the 22th – 25th of June.
We will soon be in touch with details about the venue and the activities. In the meantime, we invite you to contribute to our programme by sharing your expertise and submitting a workshop or presentation abstract. We are calling for proposals that align with our conference theme to help us create a rich and relevant programme!
The deadline for applications is January 31st 2026

- MESSAGES FROM THE OLD STORIES – Myths, folktales and legends. How can we make the old stories relevant today? What messages can be found?
- MESSAGES FROM HISTORY TO US TODAY – Historical stories. How do we bring history to life? Can we reinterpret history and find relevance today?
- MESSAGES IN THE PRESENT – Contemporary stories. What responsibility do we have as storytellers to work for democracy and against lies and polarization?
- MESSAGES FROM SWEDEN AND THE NORDIC COUNTRIES – The Nordic track. Explore the norse gods, the swedish creatures and beings. Try folk dances and folk music.
