Dear FEST members,
in the frame of our new International projects supported by Rome City Council and Lazio Region, we are happy to announce that we have a number of opportunities to offer to young storytellers under 35 from any country (but not only, please see the bottom of the mail for other opportunities not age related) from now and for the next 3 years and we would like to share this news with all FEST members in order to reach as many young tellers as possible.
We can involve young tellers in a number of activities, according to their stage experience and interests.
As a start we can offer:
n 3 places to take part into an artistic residence within the frame of our project MYTHICA 2023 focusing on the retelling of myths featuring women (goddesses, heroines, etc) and gender fluid characters.
The artistic residence will include:
-participation at the study of our new Production “The song of Thetis” that will be built through an experimental collective creative process
– exposure to a series of performances with artists from all over the world on material from mythology from different cultures (free)
– performing space in the Storytelling Cafes and open floor of the event
– free participation to Storytelling workshops with the artists involved in the event
– up to 250 Euros towards travel expenses
– accomodation
Dates:
1)14th November to 18th November
2)29th November to 3rd December
We ask all interested young storytellers to submit their application by writing an email to raccontamiunastoria@yahoo.it, containing the following information:
-Performing Storytelling CV (including workshop and studies)
-Picture
– Place and date of birth
Please write in the mail object :Name Surname and young Storyteller for Mythica
Please note that all candidate must be fluent in at least one of the following languages: Italian, English or French.
We will select n 3 candidates for these two events and keep all others in a database for future events.
We apologise for the short notice…but the timing are dictated by the grant giver and not us!
New Year Storytelling Gathering: Beside that we are happy to share also the invitation to our Storytelling New Year Gathering with both experienced and professional storytellers, as well as story lovers (see separate mail).As per the past years this is a completely free event (everyone pays only their food and accomodation at a very cheap price) with a great focus and creating new collaborations, networking, promoting of repertoire and sharing of artistic practices in a relaxed and fun atmospheare.
In a view of our upcoming new project this will be for us also a great opportunity to find new collaborators and discovering artists to insert in our future programmes.
Most of the storytellers that are now professionally involved in our Festival programmes and new projects are artists that we met at our New Year Gathering.
